Born 1949, Ripon, Yorkshire, England.

Attended George Heriot's School, Edinburgh, Scotland.

Studied landscape architecture, Leeds Polytechnic, 1968 - 72

Travelled Europe 1972 - 77, painting, mostly architectural subjects in watercolour.

Studied printmaking, Glasgow School of Art, 1978 - 85 (1st class, + Royal Academy of Arts prize for sculpture and prize for best dissertation).

Continued working on The Tracing of Relative Motion Using Rotating Frames, 1985 - 91

PUBLISHED "Rigid Eels and Wriggling Steel Rods" with assistance of Scottish Arts Council grant, 1991

EXHIBITED project, 1991, in Aberdeen (Peacock Printmakers' Gallery), Edinburgh (Science Festival), and Glasgow (Kelly Gallery).

1991 - 99, worked as fisherman in Republic of Ireland, and 2000 - 05 as gardener in England. Currently working as fisherman in Ireland
